I’ve developed the recipes using simple, healthy ingredients that can be found in most grocery stores. I’ve been on a ketogenic diet for many years, even before it was fashionable, and after years of answering the questions of families and friends (what do I buy?? what do I eat?? how much do I eat?? what do you mean no snacks?!), I created this blog as a 1-stop shop for all their questions.
As a bit of background on myself, I was born in India, raised in Canada and have been in the US for over 20 years. In my teens I developed chronic stomach issues and after years of treatments ranging from seeing gastroenterologists, chiropractors, allergy testing, taking vitamin supplements and even naturopathic and ayervedic medicine, I was finally diagnosed with a form of Crohn’s Disease, and at the suggestion of a doctor friend of mine, switched to a rather unknown-at-the-time diet called a Ketogenic diet. I’ll be taking medication for the rest of my life to prevent the severe flare-ups, but dropping my carb intake has had all symptoms disappear.
Over this time, I learned a lot about nutrition, and developed super simple Keto versions of Indian, Mexican, Italian and good ‘ol American meals. So, truly, all eaters are welcome!
